Cops, Feds Arrest Dozens of Gang Members in Bronx Raid
Nearly 50 gang members who are reportedly affiliated with the Bloods were busted Wednesday for running so-called open air drug markets at two housing projects near Yankee Stadium.

According to DEA officials, the suspects are charged with dealing cocaine and crack. According to an indictment unsealed today in Manhattan Federal court, the members may also be responsible for at least 20 unsolved murders and more than 40 shootings over the past few years.

Authorities reportedly recovered four firearms and $18,000 during raids at the Jackson and Melrose Housing Projects on Cortland and Park Avenues, located in the Morrisania section of the Bronx.

The takedown was reportedly the result of yearlong investigation of violent drug crews by the new York Police Department, Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The suspects were arraigned Wednesday afternoon in Manhattan federal court.
