EAST MEADOW, N.Y. (WPIX)—The life cycle continues outside the 17th floor of Nassau University Medical Center. Four just-born baby Peregrine falcons are proof.
Officials from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation perched themselves on the window ledge Friday to band the baby falcons.
Still listed as an endangered species the Peregrine falcons are tracked by the DEC for historical data to keep track of where the birds were born, their age, changes in weight and other important information.
All tolled 50 such baby falcons have now been born on the famous 17th floor of NUMC since 1997, according to hospital officials.
