BROWNSVILLE, N.Y. (WPIX)—Police have arrested the man they say is responsible for murdering a Queens teenager in September.
Rashad Salaam, 22, of McDougal Street in Brooklyn was arrested Wednesday, and police say he confessed to stabbing 16-year-old Kyanna Thomas on September 25th. The stabbing happened at the intersection of McDougal Street and Saratoga Avenue around 3 a.m.
Thomas, of Rosedale, Queens, was staying at an aunt's home in Brooklyn when she snuck out of the house to go to a party.
Salaam, an online acquaintance of Thomas', confessed to police he intended to slash Thomas' face, but not to kill her.
