Man Visits Friend In Jail and Lands Himself in the Slammer
A 31-year-old man is accused of biting a member of the law enforcement.

According to Nassau County police, Sharrief Yelverton, of West Hempstead, became angry when a Corrections Officer refused to let into the Nassau County Jail to visit a friend after hours. Authorities say Yelverton pushed the officer and them bit him on the hand.

That did earn him entry into the jail, in a cell of his own.

Yelverton was charged with assault, resisting arrest and criminal trespass.

The Corrections officer was treated and released from a local hospital.
