Vandals splash paint on Oak Park Church
Vandals targeted a  Catholic Church in Oak Park, splattering red paint on the doors and a sign. It happened early Tuesday morning.

Someone threw buckets of red paint on the doors, and a sign in front of the Ascension Catholic Church at 808 East Avenue.

The Rev. Lawrence McNally said he was very angry over the incident. Members of the parish spent Tuesday morning scrubbing the paint off.

The church has also been burglarized twice in the past five weeks.Thieves stole between $300 and $400 out of donation boxes. Rev. McNally says they’ve since changed how they keep the money.

Oak Park Police are investigating both incidents.
