Massive fire destroys 50 homes; Crews battle flames, flooding from Sandy
Nearly 200 firefighters are battling a massive 6-alarm fire that's destroyed at least 50 homes in Queens, New York.

The fire swept through the flooded neighborhood of Breezy Point right on the coast.  Strong winds fanned the flames causing them to jump from building to building.

Firefighters used small boats and waded through waist-deep water to get to the fire.

About 40 residents, who had ignored evacuation orders, were rescued from their homes as the fire spread.

No word yet how it started.  Two minor injuries have been reported.
