Karyn's Green Meal Smoothie
14 oz. liquid base (we use half apple juice, half rejuvelac)
1 frozen banana
2 Tablespoons Karyn's Green Meal Powder
2 Tablespoons flax seed oil
2 Tablespoons soy lecithin granules
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend on a medium speed until creamy.
A frozen banana will make the smoothie creamier and more delicious, just remember to peel the banana before you freeze it
You can use all apple juice if you like a sweeter smoothie or more rejuvelac for less sugar. Also, nut milk or hemp milk are great substitutes.
Makes 8 servings
2 cups almonds
4 cups purified water
1/4 small white onion
3 to 4 Tablespoons Braggs Liquid Aminos
2 cloves garlic
1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
Soak the almonds in water for 8 to 12 hours. Drain and rinse almonds. Transfer to a food processor and pulse a few times until coarsely chopped. Add the tomato, onions, Braggs, garlic and cayenne. Process to desired consistency. Store in a glass container in refrigerator.
Almond Pate will keep for 7 to 10 days
If you don't have Braggs you can substitute sea salt but do it to taste.
For a creamier pate add some avocado.
Berry Flax Parfait
Makes 6 to 8 servings
2 cups raw cashews
1/4 cup agave nectar (or sweetener of choice)
1 cup cold milled flaxseed
1 1/2 cups thinly sliced strawberries
Soak the cashews in purified water for 6 to 8 hours. Drain and rinse. Blend cashews and agave nectar to a creamy consistency, drizzling in water as needed. For each serving, put a dollop of cashew cream in a glass, top with a layer of flax seed, then a layer of strawberries. Repeat two more times. Serve chilled.
Granola can be used in place of or in addition to flax seed.
