Gurnee Mills Mall, annually hosts a popular New Year's Eve event for families.
The Party Package includes: ice skating with ice skate rental, a game card with 25 credits, one FREE round of laser tag or glow golf, prizes & giveaways, hats, noise-makers, food buffet and a super fun balloon drop with a countdown at 9:00 p.m.

Noon Year's Eve at Chicago Children's Museum
Chicago Children's Museum seeks to include children in the New Year's Eve festivities by hosting its first annual Noon Year's Eve event. Noon Year's Eve will feature many traditional elements -- party favors, confetti and the singing of Auld Lang Syne -- all set in the family-friendly atmosphere of the museum. And because no museum event would be complete without an opportunity for collaborative family fun, visitors who choose to come early can make hats, crowns and other party favors. Families can enjoy the museum at their leisure the rest of the day.

When: December 31st, 11 am - noon; museum is open 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Cost: Included with regular admission to museum of $12 for adults & children; $11 for seniors

Ring in the New Year at LEGOLAND Discovery Center
This kid-friendly countdown takes place on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 with multiple balloon drop countdowns, confetti, sparkling grape juice, and party music. Guests looking for kid-friendly fun and festivities to ring in the New Year can celebrate with:

Ringin' in the New Year in Downtown Naperville
Downtown Naperville's family-friendly Ringin' in the New Year event is intended to help families celebrate the New Year together at a family-friendly hour. There will be many events occurring on New Year's Eve in and near the downtown and families are encouraged to jump in at any point that is relevant for them.
12 noon - 5 p.m. - Downtown Naperville Delights! An afternoon of dining, shopping & entertainment sprinkled thru the downtown including free face painters, juggler, magician, fortune teller, harpist, and caricaturist. Families can also take advantage of special end of year sales, enjoy free Shutterbox photos, fun giveaways and participate in a fun (self administered) scavenger hunt if they choose for a chance to win a Downtown Naperville gift card (50 winners). Rooftop music will add to the merriment of the day.
5-6 p.m. - Families can stroll down the beloved Naperville Riverwalk for an early evening Ringin' in the New Year countdown at 6pm from the Carillon Bell Tower. Free hot chocolate will be provided at the Riverwalk Eatery on the Riverwalk while they wait. If weather permits, the sled hill & nearby ice skating rink will also be open.
