Sauk Village residents will be relieved to hear that the public water supply is now safe to drink.
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency announced Tuesday that test results show there's no more vinyl chloride in the finished, public water supply.
The agency is crediting temporary filters for making the water safer.
The Attorney General will now tell village leaders they don't have to provide free bottled water to its residents.
The EPA found the chemical in the drinking water last month.
