The two men charged in the the shooting death of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton are due in court today for a preliminary hearing.

18-year-old Michaeil Ward and 20-year-old Kenneth Williams have been held without bond since their arrest on first degree murder charges.

Pendleton was shot in the back on January 29th while huddling with friends under a canopy in a park to get out of the rain.  They had just finished final exams at nearby King College Prep.

Prosecutors say Ward and Williams were cruising the neighborhood looking to take some gang retaliation.

Pendleton was not the intended target.  The shooting, just blocks from President Obama's Kenwood home, has focused national attention on urban gun crime, particularly here in Chicago.
