Lean proteins are the basis for several of the latest quick-fix diets, including the Dukan diet and the hCG diet. So what are the best bets for lean protein? Registered Dietitian Molly Kimball puts it in perspective.
Molly LOVES boiled crawfish and shrimp. You can eat 9 ounces of crawfish or 200 calories or 6 ounces of shrimp.
Molly LIKES lean pork, chicken and beef, but you don't get as much for 200 calories. You can eat 5 ounces of roasted pork tenderloin, 4.2 ounces of roasted chicken breast or 4 ounces of braised flank steak.
In Molly's HATE it - fried chicken, pork sausage and prime rib.
