This Friday and Saturday will be tax free weekend on items bought like school supplies, furniture, electronics, and computers.
Shoppers will not have to pay Louisiana's 4% sales tax on items up to $2,500. Meals, hotel stays, and car purchases will still be taxed.
Saving money is definitely on the minds of shoppers Mita and Ayesha Sujan.
"If I would have known, I would not have gone shopping yesterday, and I would've waited until this weekend," Sujan said.
The Louisiana Department of Revenue wants to remind shoppers to save your reciepts if you buy uniforms, books, and other school supplies. Many of these items are tax deductable.
