NEW ORLEANS—The U.S. district court judge in the StarCaps case heard arguments from the players union and the NFL and then called time out.
In St Paul, Minnesota Judge Paul Magnuson said he will make a decision and it will relatively soon.
The judge could rule for either side, or send the case to trial. The trial date is June 15th.
Saints Will Smith and Charles Grant, former Saint Deuce McAllister, and Vikings Kevin and Pat Williams won injunctive relief in December for four game suspensions for violating the league's steroid policy.
The five claim that the NFL didn't not properly notify them that a banned substance was contained in StarCaps, a weight loss diuretic.
If the players lose, they could be suspended the first four games of the 2009 season.
