NEW ORLEANS—The Hornets are still on a roll. Although win number 5 in a row was a struggle.
Forward David West scored 23 points, including a jump shot with 31.7 seconds remaining that snapped a 81-81 tie, as New Orleans beat Toronto Monday night 85-81.
Amir Johnson, grabbed the rebound, and made two free throws to secure the final margin of victory. The Hornets trailed by 12 points in the second half. Said West, "We have character guys who show up and they are not going to panic."
The win was the Hornets 16th in 21 home games this season.
Jarrett Jack scored 17 points off the Hornets bench. Emeka Okafor scored 17 points and grabbed a season high 16 rebounds.
The Hornets are 15-1 this season when holding the opposition to under 100 points.
