Grand Jury Indicts Telly Hankton Alibi Witnesses on Twenty-Three Counts of Perjury
On Thursday, August 11, 2011, District Attorney Leon Cannizzaro's office obtained the indictment of Danielle Hampton and Sana Johnson from the Grand Jury.

The Grand Jury returned a True Bill indicting Danielle Hampton with twenty (20) Counts of Perjury on July 28, 2011, when she testified falsely under oath in the trial of State v. Telly Hankton, Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, Case No. 497-354, Section L. A warrant has been issued for the defendant's arrest, and a $300,000 has been set on the charges.

The Grand Jury returned a True Bill indicting Sana Johnson with three (3) Counts of Perjury on July 28, 2011, when she testified falsely under oath in the trial of State v. Telly Hankton, Orleans Parish Criminal District Court, Case No. 497-354, Section L. The Defendant is presently being held on a $300,000 bond.

In response to the indictments, District Attorney Leon A. Cannizzaro, Jr. stated, "I will do everything in my power to prove to the citizens of this community that the criminal courthouse belongs to them and not the criminal element. I will show the people of New Orleans that those who attempt to molest the process will be brought to justice and that the justice will be both swift and severe."
