House hopefuls report campaign finances
Republican U.S. Rep. Anh "Joseph" Cao has more money in the bank than the two Democratic state legislators who want to challenge him in this year's election in Louisiana's 2nd Congressional District.

Cao listed nearly $360,000 on hand in his latest Federal Election Commission filing. Richmond had $250,000; LaFonta, more than $30,000, according to The Times-Picayune.

In another Congressional race, New Iberia's Jeff Landry has more than $378,000 in cash on hand as he prepares for the Republican primary. Fellow Republican Hunt Downer was a late entry in that 3rd district race but his campaign reports raising $274,500 already. The only Democrat in the 3rd District race, Ravi Sangisetty, has more than $280,000 on hand for the general election.
