A good breakfast can give our brains the fuel we need till lunch, but the wrong breakfast can leave us bottomed out by the time we get to school or work.
Look for whole grain waffles, and try to add protein by chosing a nut butter spread instead of syrup!
Van’s Power Grains Protein Waffles
These boast 10 grams protein and 2 grams fiber per per two-waffle serving (2-3 times the protein of other waffles). It does contain white flour, but at least has more whole grains than white flour.
These generally have 6 grams fiber per two-waffle serving. Made with all whole grains - no white/enriched wheat flour.
Van’s 8 Whole Grains Waffles
These have 6 grams fiber per two-waffle serving. They do contain white flour, but at least they have more whole grains than white flour.
Eggo Nutri-Grain Waffles
These fall into my Hate it! with only 3 grams fiber per two-waffle serving. Enriched flour is the first ingredient (after water), meaning they has more white flour than whole grain.
