Grant, Donation Will Help Make Terrebonne Greener
A money grant from the state and a donation of trees from a corporation will help make Terrebonne Parish greener.

The Apache Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Apache Corp., has awarded the Terrebonne Tree Board 100 trees that will be planted along streets and parks in Terrebonne Parish, according to the board's chairwoman, Sybil Guidry.

The board and Houma's Downtown Development Corp. also have received a $5,000 grant from the state Department of Agriculture and Forestry to create a master landscape plan for a 1-mile portion of Main Street downtown and along the Bayou Terrebonne boardwalk that is currently under construction, according to The Courier newspaper.
