Neuroblastoma is one of the deadliest forms of pediatric cancer. Survival rate is 40 percent in patients with advanced stage disease. Neuroblastoma is most common in infants and toddlers and has a higher incidence rate in infants than leukemia.

On May 21, Indianapolis Colts former right tackle and Illinois favorite son Ryan Diem will host the 8th annual Allie & Friends Golf Classic to raise money for neuroblastoma research and education. You can learn more about the event and register here. Sports figures will be joining Ryan from the Colts, Bears, Blackhawks and professional golf.

The event will be held at Boulder Ridge Golf Course in Lake In the Hills, and will benefit the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation.

This year, Allie & Friends pays special tribute to Anna O'Connor, a vibrant young woman who was diagnosed with the disease at age 17, who succumbed in February at age 26. Anna had been instrumental in raising thousands of dollars for Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation over the years. Her spirit and warmth will be remembered this year as Allie & Friends dedicates a hole on the golf course to Anna's memory called Anna's Hope.

Sponsorships for the Allie and Friends Golf Classic and for Anna's Hope are still available for $2,500, and include four tickets to a pre-golf classic event and dinner and awards banquet the night of the event.
