Hinsdale Orchestra to Appear at Cantigny Park on July 28

The West Suburban Symphony of Hinsdale returns to Wheaton's Cantigny Park on Saturday, July 28, at 1s151 Winfield Road, Wheaton to perform music inspired by real and fictional heroes, on the grounds of the park's First Division Museum.

The concert program features Liszt's Les Preludes, source of the Flash Gordon theme, and music honoring our astronauts, armed forces, and Olympians. Legendary heroes celebrated in this concert through movie music include the crew of the Starship Enterprise, Harry Potter, Superman, Rocky, James Bond, Indiana Jones, the Three Musketeers, and Maximus the Roman gladiator.

Led by internationally acclaimed conductor Peter Lipari, the orchestra will perform under the stars beginning at 8 p.m. The concert grounds open for picnics at 6 p.m.; concert-goers should bring their own chairs or blankets.
