(WGN-AM)- Illinois fire marshals and Fox River Grove police department officials are investigating the cause of an early morning 2-alarm fire that destroyed a steakhouse in the far northwest suburb, officials said today.
The Five O' Clock Steakhouse, 1050 E. Northwest Hwy., is being considered a total loss, Chief Robert Kreher of the Fox River Grove Fire Department said in a press release. It took firefighters more than three hours to get the fire under control. There were no injuries, fire officials said.
A short time later a second alarm was called and departments from Cary, Crystal Lake, Algonquin, Barrington, Lake Zurich, Lakewood, McHenry, Nunda, Palatine Rural, and Wauconda responded. The Salvation Army also responded.
Crews were working on the fire until about 7 a.m., Kreher said.
