October 16-The Foundation Fighting Blindness will honor Leo Burnett CEO Tom Bernardin with the Visionary Award at its bi-yearly Visions Ball. This fundraising gala helps the Foundation drive research for treatments and cures for blindness caused by retinal diseases. Bernardin is being honored for his philanthropic contributions to the Foundation.
Co-chaired this year by Dale and Nancy Pollak, with Visions Ball Founder and Foundation National Trustee Ira Schulman of Walton Street Capital serving as the honorary chair, the event has raised more than $3.3 million for research and treatments since its inception in 1993.
Alonzo Bodden. A regular field correspondent on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Bodden hosts Speed Channel's new program "101 Cars You Must Drive." He is a former grand-prize winner of NBC's "Last Comic Standing" and was a regular series judge of the show.
A performance by the Swing Shift Orchestra will cap off the evening.
