(WGN-AM)- Two people were shot to death and one wounded early Wednesday morning in a bar fight that escalated in south suburban Calumet City, police said.

The shootings happened in a parking lot outside Laristos II Sports Bar and Grill, 403 Torrence Ave. as the bar was closing about 2 a.m.

Police said early this morning they had suspects in custody and two weapons were confiscated at the scene.

Michael Johnson, 24, of the 6900 block of South Union Avenue, Chicago, was pronounced dead at 2:54 a.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, said a spokesman for the Cook County medical examiner's office.

Edward White, 22, of the 3000 block of South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, was pronounced dead at 3:20 a.m. at Christ Hospital, the medical examiner's office spokesman said.

The third man shot suffered what were thought to be non-life-threatening injuries, and was being treated at St. Margaret Mercy Hospital in Hammond, Ind., said Calumet City Police Capt. Dan Zorzi.

As people were leaving the bar, Zorzi said, "some type of altercation erupted." Zorzi added that the altercation "possibly stemmed from a male/female situation."
