The course is friendly to bicycles, wheelchairs, strollers, and rollerblades. Plus, a DJ will provide the morning's soundtrack. The path is around Lake Arlington, which was Mark's favorite place to ride his bike.

Participants also can honor a lost loved one or celebrate a survivor with honor markers, each with a customized tribute message. Honor markers are placed along the event course to guide walkers and runners.

Naomi, Sandee, Erika and Abbey are organizing this event as a profound way to celebrate the gift they shared in Mark. After Mark passed away, his mother knew there was something she wanted to do to honor Mark. She searched for lung cancer organizations and decided upon LUNGevity as she felt this organization cared enough to see that a large portion of the funds raised would actually go to funding the research. For Naomi, Sandee, Erika and Abbey, this walk, although bittersweet, will help in their healing. Their hope is that other people will be helped and, perhaps, together, they can play a part in putting a stop to lung cancer. Breathe Deep Lake Arlington is about seeking to make a difference.

Registration will happen up until the event and those interested can register at the walk.
