The Inaugural 24 Hour Ski Jumping World Distance Challenge
On Saturday October 1, 2011, The inaugural 24 Hour ski Jumping World Distance Challenge sponsored by Lagunitas Brewing Company, will be taking place at The Norge Ski Club, Fox River Grove, IL, this weekend.

This "ultra event" is designed to see how far ski jumpers in the USA can jump in one 24 hour period and to challenge other ski jumping nations around the world tos ee if they can match or beat the USA.

The distance of every jump taken in teh USA between 9 am (CDT) October 1 and 9 am (CDT) October 2 will be counted toward the USA total.

The even is also being used as a fund raiser with all money raised going to support the development of ski jumping in the USA.

Other festivities on the day including food, drink music and more will supplement the event making it a memorable and meaningful 24 hours for participants and spectators.

Although The Norge Ski Club in Fox River Grove, IL, will host the event, otehr jumpers around the country will be participating "virtually" - taking jumps on their local hills and self-reporting distances to command central at the Norge complex. A live running total will be kept both on sit and on-line and spectators through-out the 24 hour period.

Event begins at 9:00 am & ending on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at 9:00 am.
