The night of April 8th, we couldn't confirm what we suspected. It wasn't until the next morning the sights said it all.
Tornadoes hit Pulaski County, one hitting near downtown. More than 200 homes were damaged, costing more than 5 million dollars.
Two weeks later, Southwest Virginia was struck again.
The images from Glade Spring were heartbreaking. Three people died. A truck stop turned into a junkyard.
Halifax County was hit by numerous twisters the entire month, an April unlike any other for widespread tornado destruction.
But through it all we saw the resilience, the courage and the faith of the people in our hometowns.
In the months since the rebuilding has begun, even though many in Pulaski were uninsured.
Now come the stories of rebirth.
