In Roanoke County at Bogle Stadium, Cave Spring and Hidden Valley hooked up in the regular-season finale.

The Knights were looking at a first-round bye next week in Region IV, Division Three while the Titans hoped to overtake Salem for the third seed in Division Four.

Tim Fulton's squad was the host tonight, but early on they did not show their archrival a lot of good hospitality.

On Senior Night, Senior Tony Simmons lined up at QB, takes the snap, and uses his speed to turn the corner and fly past the oncoming Titan defenders. The touchdown went for 45 yards on the third play from scirmmage for the Knights as they took a 6-0 lead.

The defense forced a three-and-out, and the offense was up to their tricks again.

Former player of the week Sam Wright lets his blockers up front create the hole, and Wright turns on the jets for 50 yards before the senior gets taken down at the Hidden Valley 20 yard line.

Simmons would again call his own number and capitalize on the long run, getting to the zone from 9 yards out and it was 12-0 midway through the first.

Hidden Valley would get something going their way in the form of 5-foot-5 freshman Mason Dermitt.  He finds his way through the line, finds some wide open spaces and cruises his way for 61 big ones before being chased down at the Cave Spring 23.

A few plays later, Michael Semonic rolls out, can't find anyone open, so he takes matters into his own hands.  He reverses his field, sidesteps a defender, and dives for the goal line, the score gets Hidden Valley on the board.  This one would require extra time, with Hidden Valley getting the win in the battle of Southwest County 41-39 in double overtime.
