Franklin County took on Patrick Henry Friday night. The winner likely wrapped up the district crown and a playoff berth while the loser would miss out on the postseason.
The Patriots trying to channel some tunnel vision and focus to claim a championship. But it was 14-nothing Franklin County, and Steven Ellis keeps it going for the Eagles. Ellis does work up the sideline on a 25 yard gainer good for a first down Franklin County.
Two plays later, it's Ellis getting things done again. He goes 13 yards for 6 and Chris Jones's team was smelling the upset, up 20 to nothing in the third quarter.
Things unraveled from there for the Patriots. David McGhee starts the sweep on the right side, but cuts it back and pulls away from the defense. McGhee is off on a 74 yard stroll to the zone. Franklin County led it 26 to nothing at that point.
The ground game got another boost from Chance Tyree later. He bulls his way 13 yards for another tally. The Eagles impose their will and take out PH 34 to nothing the final.
