Alabama state troopers say at least three people died in accidents on Alabama roads over the Memorial Day Holiday weekend.

Dorris Teague, a spokeswoman for the Department of Public Safety, said   two people died in separate traffic accidents in Madison County on Friday and Saturday.

Another traffic fatality was reported Sunday in Mobile County.

None of the people who were killed wore their seatbelts.

In the five county area the Birmingham post serves, troopers worked a total of 25 crashes.

Six of them were alcohol related.

State Troopers also made 11 DUI arrests, issued 272 speeding tickets and wrote 178 citations for failure to wear a seatbelt.

The 72-hour Memorial Day holiday travel period ended at midnight Monday.
