BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC-TV, MyFoxAL.com)—
Irondale Mayor Tommy Joe Alexander spoke out for the first time on Tuesday afternoon about Trinity Medical Center's decision to relocate to the abandoned Healthsouth Digital Hospital building on Highway 280. Alexander told FOX6 News Reporter Ashley Nix that he felt his city was not done fairly.
Irondale had bought land and was in the process of putting in water lines when Trinity abrubtly changed its mind about building at the Grants Mill Road site.
Alexander says Trinity has agreed to fulfill its financial obligations but the Irondale City Council will meet about the matter in executive session at 5:00 Tuesday evening.
