Ex-Cub David DeJesus hosting karaoke fundraiser

Ex-Cub and current Tampa Bay Ray David DeJesus will host his karaoke fundaiser, “Strike a Chord,” Jan. 16 at American Junkie along with the David DeJesus Family Foundation and Cubs Charities. The benefit will raise money for ALS research and feature karaoke performance by players, guests and local musicians.

The Cubs’ Anthony Rizzo, Edwin Jackson, Nate Schierholtz, Travis Wood, Darwin Barney, Donnie Murphy and Ryan Sweeney are scheduled to attend.

The benefit coincides with the Cubs Convention, which takes place Jan. 17-19 at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. That’s why retired Cub Kerry Wood is hosting his his third annual Woody’s Winter Warm-Up at Harry Caray’s Tavern at Navy Pier Jan. 17.
