  5. Magic Wings - Butterflies

Have you already had enough of the frigid weather? Are you ready for a tropical break? Well, grab the kids and head north for an educational and beautiful adventure! Magic Wings Butterfly Conservatory is located in historic Deerfield, Massachusetts which is just a short drive from the Connecticut border. Walk through the entrance to the indoor garden and become enveloped in a lush, warm environment. "It is sort of an oasis," says owner George Miller, who grew up in New York City. "Not too many butterflies in Brooklyn," laughs the fairly new enthusiast, as he gazes upon his four thousand precious pets. "It's very relaxing," he says. "I come in here at six o'clock in the morning and it is just me and the butterflies. It's a very calming, soothing effect."
