American racecar driver Norm Benning was born on Jan. 16, 1952, in Level Green, Penn. He began racing at 15 at Heidelberg Raceway, even though the minimum age was 18. He made his NASCAR debut in 1989. In 276 starts, Benning has five top 5 and 32 top 10 finishes. His best effort was a third place finish at the Springfield dirt mile in 2004. He is a full-time driver and owner.
