    <strong>Last Week:</strong> The story of the week in my mind involved Chief Judge Peter Weinstein issuing an executive order requiring defendants accused of residential burglary to appear before a judge rather than being able to post an automatic bond.&nbsp; As an elected official I can speak first hand of the damage done by residential burglars who not only violate a person's privacy, but can cause extreme damage to an individual's quality of life through fear.&nbsp; Police Chief Ross Licata is to be complimented for his initiative in bring this to Weinstein's attention and the judge is to be lauded for his quick action.&nbsp; These are two public officials who have the community's interest in mind. It's also a very positive sign that the judge has ordered a complete review of the current bonding structure.
