3. Cooking Up a Storm: A Spring Harvest Cooking Demonstration at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum on April 21

Celebrate the season by learning how Native Americans once cooked their food, and what they ate in the early spring at the Mashantucket Pequot Museum's spring harvest cooking demonstration. Seeqan Keepunumooôk, which means "spring harvest," will feature Museum Educator Lea Hopkinds (Niantic/Narragansett) as she gives an overview of traditional cooking techniques of southern New England indigenous peoples in the early 17th century, and uses food available during the early spring, including fresh greens, rabbit, fish and wild fowl eggs, and food stored over the winter as well. She'll also talk about the meaning behind the feast in Native cultures. This program is free with museum admission and free to museum members.

  5. Toby Moffett looks like he is winning big lobbying for online gambling, but those Egyptian general clients could be a different kind of wager

When you’re a big-time Washington lobbyist like former liberal Connecticut Congressman Toby Moffett, you win some, lose some, and sometimes you just keep taking the money and let others decide how you’re doing.

  15. My Fair Lady, Secret Garden, Menopause and Gilbert

My Fair Lady at the Connecticut Repertory Theatre is made for theater geeks whose love of Broadway begins in the splashy 1980s. Directed by CRT artistic director Vincent Cardinal, the production stars Terrence Mann — Broadway's original Rum Tum Tugger (in Cats) and Beast (in Beauty & the … ) not to mention the original Mal Beineke in The Addams Family musical — as Henry Higgins. The show's choreographed by Charlotte D'Amboise of the Broadway Damn Yankees and Chicago revivals. But My Fair Lady — which ends its short run July 17 at UConn's Harriet Jorgensen Theatre (802 Bolton Road, Storrs; $38-$39; 860-486-1629, crt.uconn.edu) — features real-world characters crustier than Cats and more cynical than Chicago's star-struck murderesses. The script, which differs from George Bernard Shaw's scabrous play Pygmalion only to the extent that songs need to be inserted, is about covering up one's class distinctions and unique personality traits with a patina of deportment.

  17. Happy and/or Gay

Tracy Morgan nearly played the Waterbury Palace earlier this year, but the show was abruptly cancelled. But honestly, wouldn't you much rather see him this week? "Saturday Night Live" member turned movie star turned sitcom self-parody turned stand-up disgrace, Morgan's spent the last fortnight apologizing for a gay-bashing routine he did on an earlier tour stop in Tennessee. If you're still a fan, it was probably worth the wait, because you're guaranteed some brand-new material. On the other hand, he might spend the whole show sobbing for forgiveness (8 p.m., July 2 at the MGM Grand Theater, 39 Norwich-Westerly Road, Mashantucket; $40-$60; 866-MGM-0050, mgmatfoxwoods.com).
