Making spirits bright is the holiday mission in Meriden where the town gets amped up for the Festival of Silver Lights, a tradition since 1988. Jane Earnest, the Coordinator for Meriden Parks and Recreation Department, said "it started with a few deer and then little by little, each year, we had things flying in the air and then we had things in the water...and everybody who comes here has a specific thing they like." Lindsay Gagnon, from Bristol, came to the park to illuminate one year old son Aidan. "You can drive or you can walk, they have a little Santa's workshop and we're going to take a walk there, " Gagnon said.

It is covered in 300 yards of hard packed, screened topsoil which makes the twisty dirt road extremely fast for the small vehicles. These "indoor electric off-road" cars routinely soar over jumps and crash into walls!
