  13. Westport Country Playhouse Showing 'Annie' This Weekend

    The play <em>Annie</em>, based on the Harold Gray comic strip <em>Little Orphan Annie </em>dating all the way back to 1924, premiered in East Haddam, Connecticut at the Goodspeed Opera House in 1976. Now, Music Theatre of Connecticut's School of Performing Arts students (ages seven and up) will bring the show full circle, reviving the it for just one weekend. Students will be joined by the dog "Sandy" who has been trained by William Berloni, the famous Broadway animal trainer who trained the original Sandy back in the day and wrote a book about it called <em>Sandy: The Autobiography of a Star</em>. <strong></strong>
