1. Wine Tasting Dinner at Sarah's Wine Bar in Ridgefield

With the current cost of going out to eat in Fairfield County, $55 doesn't go as far as it used to. But Sarah's Wine Bar in Ridgefield (part of Bernard's) wants you to get your money's worth. This Sunday, they're hosting a casual five-course dinner with wine pairings, along with a Q & A with Sarah and a visit from Chef Bernard Bouissou himself. $55 probably wouldn't even cover the wine someplace else. The menu includes bay scallops, potato sage gnocchi, a cheese plate, boar ragu and much, much more.

  5. Discovering Portugal: The artwork of Tony Woolner and Gayle Glecker at Rockwell Art Galleries in Ridgefield

Artist Tony Woolner proposed to another artist, Gayle Gleckler, on a romantically charged road trip through Portugal. Gayle painted some acrylics inspired by the trip, and Tony whipped up some monoprints based on their favorite photographic images, including castles (pictured), walled-in towns, fields and harbors. Now they're hosting a joint exhibition at Rockwell Art Galleries in Ridgefield that opens with a reception Saturday evening to show off what they produced. It's appropriately entitled Discovering Portugal.

  7. Martin Sexton at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Dec. 10

Martin Sexton is probably best known for his versatile voice, which can suit any of the many genres his music touches upon, be it R&B, gospel, country or blues. One of his unique performance tricks is singing "guitar" solos, using effects to distort it, which can be confusing to newcomers to his shows. He'll be at the Ridgefield Playhouse Saturday night to show inland Fairfield County what he's got, with an intimate solo acoustic show.

  11. Los Lobos perform at The Ridgefield Playhouse on April 4th

Yeah, they're the guys that covered "La Bamba." But they're so much more than that. For over 30 years, Los Lobos have been kicking ass and taking names, spreading their Tex-Mex-meets-R&B-meets-Country sounds around the world. They've even won three Grammys. But yes, they probably will play "La Bamba" too.

  15. Prince of the City: Q&A with Robert Leuci at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Dec. 4

When movies are based on real-life stories, it often arouses curiosity as to what the characters are/were like in real life. With Prince of the City, a film about "cops, drugs and New York City" according to Roger Ebert, let it be a mystery no more. The Ridgefield Playhouse is hosting a screening as part of their Film Society Lost & Found Film Series on Sunday, followed by a Q&A with former NYPD Narcotics Detective Robert Leuci, whom the movie was based on, and actor Treat Williams (pictured) who plays him on the big screen.
