  1. Kent A. Berge

Kent A. Berge of Costa Mesa, California died unexpectedly on May 31, 2011.  Born on July 21, 1931 in Glendale, California, Kent spent his early years in Arcadia, California and graduated from Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte High School.  He served in the Navy on an aircraft carrier during the Korean conflict.  He graduated from USC, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Psi fraternity.  He worked in the commercial real estate industry for The Irvine Company and Coldwell, Banker.  He was an avid fly fisherman, boater, classic car collector, cribbage player, and birder.  Kent was also a volunteer teacher of a Longevity Stick Art exercise class at the Huntington Beach Senior Center and the Oasis Senior Center.  Kent’s interests were so varied and diverse, and because of that he had friends from all different backgrounds.  His friends describe him as not only unique but a man of great integrity, honesty, and loyalty.  He is survived by his wife, Helen Berge; brother, Bryn Berge; sister, Gaye Sprout and her husband, John Sprout.  His parents and brother, Dean, predeceased him.  His friends and family gathered together to celebrate his life on June 13, 2011 at a local restaurant.
