Woman Killed In Simsbury Crash Was Former Defense Analyst

SIMSBURY — Police have released the name of a woman killed in a two-car crash Monday. Doris Blake, an East Hartland resident and former defense analyst, died, they said. She had recently turned 51. The crash happened shortly after 3 p.m. Monday afternoon in front of 299 Bushy Hill Road. It happened after snow from this week's blizzard had started falling, but police said the weather didn't appear to be a factor. Blake's Ford Escape and a Ford F-350 pick-up truck collided, and Blake was taken to St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center, where she later died, police said.
