Nuts can pose a serious threat to allergy sufferers, and increased travel during the holidays increases that risk, said Naperville's Amy Wicker, founder of AllergySafeTravel.com.

Nut-allergy sufferers — and parents of children who are sufferers — don't want to infringe on other passengers' rights, she said, but it's a safety issue.
