On The Fly: Jay Fishman, Former Travelers CEO, Dies

Jay Fishman, the well-liked former Travelers CEO who was so important to the annual PGA Tour event in Cromwell, died Friday after a battle with ALS. Fishman was at TPC River Highlands earlier this month to see Jim Furyk shoot a record 58, as well as to continue efforts that raised millions of dollars for ALS research. In honor of Furyk's 58, Travelers donated $58,000 to the charity of Furyk's choice. Furyk requested that the money go to the Bruce Edwards Foundation for ALS Research, but Fishman and Andy Bessette of Travelers pledged half to the Jim & Tabitha Furyk Foundation.
