On The Fly: After Grace's Record 62, Spieth Brilliant, Too

By the time Jordan Spieth teed off Saturday at the British Open, Branden Grace had set a major championship record by shooting 62. There were low scores all day, actually, at Royal Birkdale, where the wind let up and the course opened up. So Spieth probably knew it wasn't wise to play overly conservative golf. He didn't. He played brilliant golf, posting a bogey-free 5-under 65. The guy is incredible — a little wild off the tee (we had an up close view of that last month in Cromwell), but able to fix just about anything with his iron play and putting. He's got a three-stroke lead over Matt Kuchar heading into Sunday and is on the brink of a third major title.
