Petra Kvitova will return to New Haven in August as she bids for a third consecutive title at the Connecticut Open.
The tournament announced Tuesday that Kvitova has committed to play this summer, along with Americans Sloane Stephens and Madison Keys. The Connecticut Open will run Aug. 19-27 at the Connecticut Tennis Center at Yale.
Kvitova, ranked No. 7 in the world, has won three times in New Haven, including the past two years. Only four-time winners Venus Williams and Caroline Wozniacki have won more titles in New Haven.
