Connecticut Open Announces Field That Includes 20 Of World's Top 31 Players

Twenty-one players in the Connecticut Open tennis tournament field, which was announced Wednesday, will play in the Rio Olympics.

The Olympians include Petra Kvitova, who has won three times in New Haven including the last two Connecticut Opens, world No. 8 Roberta Vinci, No. 11 Madison Keys of the U.S., No. 12 Dominika Cibulkova, four-time New Haven winner Caroline Wozniacki and the 2004 U.S. Open and 2009 French Open champion Svetlana Kuznetsova, ranked 10th in the world.
