Serena Williams stunned in WTA Finals

SINGAPORE - French Open runner-up Simona Halep drilled world No. 1 and reigning two-time champion Serena Williams in Wednesday's round-robin action at the season-ending $6.5 million WTA Finals.

The fourth-seeded Halep stunned the U.S. Open champion Williams 6-0, 6-2 in 65 minutes on the hardcourts at Singapore Indoor Stadium. The loss equaled the worst of Williams' career.

Halep, who was the beneficiary of 18 unforced errors by the powerful American, not only got her first win over a world No. 1, it was also her first win over a Top-3 player.
