When Christen Press returned to Chicago after the World Cup tour for the women's national team, she said a rush of emotion came over her.
It wasn't the same excitement she felt when the United States beat Japan 5-2 for the championship, or when she and her 22 teammates lifted the trophy, but the elation of a new chapter beginning.
"It's always exciting, and this team has done phenomenal while we were gone," she said of the Red Stars on Saturday. "That puts us in a great position … to dream about winning the NWSL."
