Centro continues meeting needs in Hispanic community

Centro de Informacion, like other Illinois social service agencies, has had a turbulent year. Programs have been added. Programs have been cut due to Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner's $26 million budget cut for social service agencies. Then Rauner reinstated the monies through the end of June. Centro Executive Director Jaime D. Garcia said the monies are not included in Rauner's proposed budget next year. The agency is hoping to secure grants, donations and sponsors for more financial support, he said.
