Skateboarders hit by van in Sleepy Hollow

Sleepy Hollow police are investigating an accident Monday night when two boys, ages 12 and 14, were hit while skateboarding on Locust Street, official said. According to Chief James Linane, the accident happened at about 8:50 p.m. The boys were skateboarding southbound in the northbound lanes when a van hit them. One was taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital with injuries that did not appear life threatening. The second boy was taken to a doctor by private vehicle, he said.
