He wore an awesome top hat that you can still see at the Smithsonian (see photo). And 147 years after his untimely and well-documented death at Ford's Theatre, he still enjoys a great deal of popularity. A couple weeks back we told you about the Promise of Freedom: The Emancipation Proclamation exhibit at the Fairfield Museum and History Center containing some Lincoln-signed documents (through Feb. 24). And then there was an auction of historic American artifacts at Rockwell Art & Framing in Westport earlier this month that included the chair Lincoln was seated in when he signed his nomination for the presidency. This Saturday afternoon, the Ferguson Library in Stamford brings Lincoln back to life with actor Larry Schneider taking on the 16th president's persona and clothing for a talk and an in-character Q&A.
